"Manav seva is the ultimate religion" - living up to this motto, Siwana MLA Hamir Singh Bhayal on Saturday set a unique example of humanity by freeing a helpless mentally ill person from the chains of 15 years.
Through a post made by Karmi Ram Dewasi (Sanchor) on Twitter, it was informed that a mentally ill person named Kaisaram son of Sujharam Dewasi has been kept in chains for the last 15 years in Harmalpura village (Gram Panchayat Padardi Kala) of Siwana area. Taking the tweet seriously, MLA Bhayal immediately reached Kaisaram's house along with administrative officials and took stock of the situation.
Seeing the condition of Kaisaram, who was living at home with the support of his old mother, the MLA immediately contacted Manav Seva Sanstha (Pali) and got the chains opened on the spot and got Kaisaram bathed and took him to the Government Hospital, Siwana. Where he was admitted under the supervision of doctors, his hair was cut and he was given new clothes. Along with the treatment, the process of getting Kaisaram's Aadhar card and mental retardation certificate has also been started, so that he can get the benefit of government schemes in future.
In the coming days, the mentally ill will be shifted to Manav Seva Sanstha in Pali or Jodhpur Mental Hospital for better treatment. In this entire humanitarian work, the cooperation of many workers including Sub-Divisional Officer Surendra Singh Khangarot, Tehsildar Raichand Dewasi, PMO Dr. Devraj Kadwasra, Sawai Singh Bhayal, Sujharam Dewasi Guda, Lalaram Dewasi, Pataram Dewasi was commendable.
MLA Bhayal himself brought Kaisaram from home to the hospital and ensured his proper care by staying in the hospital. He told that this work was an opportunity of spiritual satisfaction for him and he considers it as an "omen". He also appreciated the special cooperation of his personal assistant Koj Singh and Sawai Singh Bhayal.
This sensitive initiative not only gave a new life to a victim but also gave a message to the society that if there is willpower and spirit of service, any helpless person can be brought back to normal life.
